Wireless Microphone Spectrum - 2012

Ofcom published a consultation in February 2009 which proposed that spectrum being cleared for award as part of the UK’s digital dividend should be extended to include channels 61-62 (790-806 MHz) and channel 69 (854-862 MHz).

Ofcom will publish a statement with its decisions in the summer. One of the implications of these proposals, if implemented, is that Ofcom will need to renegotiate future rights to use channels 21-60 (470-790 MHz) for digital terrestrial television with neighbouring countries. This will affect the configuration of interleaved spectrum available for PMSE use. We have therefore removed the online microphone check tool for the time being. We will reinstate it as soon as the new configuration of interleaved spectrum is known, though this will not be before the end of 2009 at the earliest.
