Wireless Microphone Spectrum - 2012
After digital switchover the frequency ranges 470 - 550 MHz (Ch21 – 30) and 630
- 790 MHz (Ch41 – 60) may continue to be available for wireless microphones.
As these frequency ranges are shared with TV broadcasting, the availability for
wireless microphones varies from location to location.
Use this tool to find which frequency ranges are likely to be available for wireless
microphones after completion of digital switchover in 2012. (For current operations, login to our live tool - UHF
Microphone Location Planner.)
Ofcom advice:
"We have removed a channel from PMSE use in each of 25 locations as it has been identified for possible award through the DDR (see annex 1 of the statement at
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/ddr/statement/statement2/statement.pdf). [Will open in a new window]
Channels in other locations could also be identified for separate award, and availability would consequently not be guaranteed for PMSE. These decisions will be subject to consultation in the Spring [2008]. PMSE users are therefore advised to bear this in mind when making decisions on equipment use."
