Operations
Who are we?

Tristan Cairns - Operations Supervisor
Tristan joined JFMG as Operations Supervisor in March 2011.
His role is to supervise and support the
Operations team to ensure all licensing operations meet the
company’s performance objectives, and to ensure that JFMG
adhere to stringent audit requirements. He is also
charged with reviewing and improving current processes to
continually review the service we provide to our customers.
Prior to joining JFMG, Tristan worked as
a sound engineer in a variety of roles from mixing and
designing for live events throughout London to the West End
Musicals as a Mic runner.
Away from JFMG, Tristan travels the UK
countryside with an outdoor pursuits club, Kayaking, Open
Canoeing, Walking and Mountain Biking.
Will Columbine -
Frontline Administrator
Will joined JFMG in December 2005.
His primary role is to coordinate and issue licences for programme making and special events. He also deals with general enquiries, processes applications and payments and ensures all of our customers licences are delivered on time. He also helps with preparing licence schedules in busy periods.
Paddy
O’Reilly, MIET – PMSE Field Engineer
Paddy joined JFMG in January 2009.
His role as a PMSE Field Planner enables us to work alongside and support spectrum users at a wide range of events. Paddy also enables us to get best use of our spectrum through real-world measurements which help to refine our coordination techniques and by keeping watch for intruders.
Prior to joining JFMG, Paddy was a Senior Project Engineer with Arqiva where he planned broadcast and mobile networks.
In his spare time Paddy enjoys riding his mountain bike or his Harley Davidson and is a school governor for a small village school. He has a BSc in Physics with Planetary Science.

Jaydev
Patel – PMSE Spectrum Planner
Jay joined JFMG in January 1999.
His role as a PMSE Spectrum Planner is to coordinate and assign VHF, UHF, SHF and EHF spectrum for the wide range of applications in the programme making, entertainment and events sector. As well as our day-to-day licensing function, Jay also deals with any technical enquiries and acts as both lead and support planner for our spectrum management of major events. He has been involved in the successful management of the Formula One British Grand Prix for the past four years.
Prior to joining JFMG, Jay was a Communications and Technical Officer for the Metropolitan Police.
When he is not working for JFMG Jay plays keyboards in a band, and has a keen and hands-on interest in classic cars from the 70’s and 80’s. He has a BEng degree in Electronic Engineering.

Des
Vitalis – PMSE Spectrum Planner
Des joined JFMG in 2000.
His role as a PMSE Spectrum Planner is to coordinate and assign VHF, UHF, SHF and EHF spectrum for the wide range of applications in the programme making, entertainment and events sector. As well as our day-to-day licensing function, Des also deals with any technical enquiries and acts as both lead and support planner for our spectrum management of major events.
Prior to working at JFMG, Des worked as a Test Engineer at Radio Frequency Investigations Ltd. In 2004 he did a tour of duty in Iraq.
Des has a keen interest in football and the movies. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics with Electronics and Computing and a Masters in Microwave Communications.

Antonios
Maillis – Trainee PMSE Spectrum Planner
Antonio proudly joined JFMG in April 2011 and will be undergoing
training to become a PMSE Spectrum Planner working
alongside Jay Patel and Des Vitalis
Over the coming months Antonios will be gaining an in depth insight into the day to day licensing activities of JFMG and developing skills from the initial first enquiry and application all the way through to dealing with major events.
Antonios has a Degree in Electronic Engineering and a Masters in Satellite Communications and Space Systems with an intensive knowledge of spacecraft technologies.
When he is not working, Antonios enjoys spending his time with his beloved dog Apollo, training in martial arts and also playing the guitar.

Freddie Cook – Frontline
Administrator
Freddie has a BSc (Hons) in Media Technology which had great focus on Studio and OB Systems, Studio Production and Streaming Media for Broadcasting.
